The Kinesmetrics Laboratory provides measurement and statistical consulting for various national organizations. Over the last 2 years the lab has created a national reputation for our expertise in Measurement and Evaluation in the field of Kinesiology. Currently, the Kinesmetrics Laboratory has established contracts with the following organizations:

American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)

We work closely with the ACSM national office and the Examinations Subcommittee to constantly ensure the quality of the certification examinations. The Kinesmetrics Laboratory provides the following services to ACSM:

  • Test Construction: Working with the Examinations and Credentialing Subcommittees, we are in charge of constructing each test form to ensure its KSAs and other psychometrics (e.g., cut-off scores and scaling) are appropriately set up.
  • Data Analysis: We analyze the data and monitor the psychometric quality of the items and exams on a regular basis. These analyses are done to guarantee the exams meet the highest quality in which health professionals demand.
  • Item Banking: We are also developing and updating an item bank for each exam.
