Community Health Graduate Program

The Department of Kinesiology and Community Health offers Community Health graduate programs that balance health theory with practical experience through field placement and research.

Master's degree candidates will be placed in a field setting appropriate to the area of concentration.

Concentration

  • Public Health/Specialization in Community Health Education
  • Community Health/Specialization in Health Policy and Administration
  • Community Health/Specialization in Epidemiology
  • Rehabilitation

Doctoral degree candidates develop and pursue independent research programs in:

Research Programs

  • Health Policy
  • Epidemiology
  • Health Education
  • Health Behavior
  • Rehabilitation
  • Disability Studies.

Graduate degree candidates work with multidisciplinary faculty advisors who maintain active research programs that keep them abreast of new developments in the field—one of the advantages of getting a degree from a premier research institution like the University of Illinois. As a result, alumni are highly sought for positions of leadership within clinical, academic, corporate, and government settings.
